Owen-Devlog - Milestone #2


This devlog was more focused on the new structures to be added and the polish of the enemy script. The first focus was making sure that the enemy would work with the Navmesh and targeting fully, then came the problem of the Turret structure. This structure was has an issue with the targeting, it would not work until the enemy was much closer than the range of detection, come to find out the raycast was on the feet and with my inexperience with raycast I got help with Yeferson after tries of my own. But structures were killing enemies and enemies were now killing structures without any major issues.

The new structures added was one which was an original idea of a wall that act a taunt for the enemies, meaning enemies had to be changed to target the wall first. The wall itself was not that complicated, all it got was the HP script as it's priority targeting was done through the enemy script. After that was Sherman as briefly mentioned in my previous Devlog. Sherman is a little sphere that comes out of a house (that being the main structure) and wanders around. He explodes when coming into contact with and enemy for a fair amount of damage as his pathing is random. There was also more ideas for more structures in the future but for the sake of the artist we have limited the amount for now.
