Avery-Devlog - Milestone #2


For our second milestone, I started working on adding various UI elements to the game, both building off of what Yeferson already implemented prior, and adding new features. We finalized what we roughly wanted the HUD to look like, and I focused on adding that all to the game. Yeferson had already made the HP and Corruption bars for the player, the ammo count, the text prompts for Build Mode and interactables, and the HP numbers above enemies and structures. I added placeholder icons for the player's extra lives and the equipped weapon, the HP bar and text for the train, and the bar that shows your progression throughout the level, which was the most fun and challenging of these to make. It's essentially 4 separate bars stitched together, the first 3 of which fill as you kill enemies, and the final of which fills as the payload progresses in the final wave. There are also flags at the end of each bar to show how close they are to being full (and to hide the gaps between bars). I also tweaked some small things about size and placements of the existing UI.
