Owen-Devlog - Milestone #1
The first milestone of mine was to start working on all the numbers for our game. As it's something we never approached I took the lead to trying to figure everything out and make it all balanced. When I say numbers I mean stats of all the weapons, structures, NPCs and the character in the game. Health, damage, speed, priority target, fire rate, range, magazine, type of attack, how many enemies in a wave.
I also started work on some of the structures. The structures that I began work on for this milestone is the Turret and the Flamethrower. The idea behind the turret was not very fast or strong, but is still useful with the normal type of enemy with 100 health. The flamethrower was made more with the idea of the small and fast but weak enemy that comes in packs. The Turret fires the occasional bullet at the enemies while the Flamethrower deals small AOE damage to everything in a small radius around it.
To do testing I also made a script for an enemy that had it just wander around so I could just test efficiently. This script then became the idea for a new structure named Sherman. Then a new enemy script that was to become the start of the base enemy script where enemies would target based off tags and structures could damage and kill the enemy.
